It was an interesting sight at the final ceremony to bid the late former President Jerry John Rawlings goodbye from this world.

The funeral attracted high-ranking personalities both in Ghana and abroad. The funeral has since been described as very well organized with most Ghanaians giving credit to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for the show of leadership.

Former President John Dramani Mahama and John Agyekum Kuffour were all present to pay their last tributes.

Mr. John Dramani Mahama is currently in court to challenge the legitimacy of the presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

Respondents in his case are the Electoral Commission of Ghana and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

He has pledged never to recognize Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as the president of Ghana until the Supreme Court brings an end to the Election Petition matter.

Mr. John Mahama is seeking the court to annul the entire presidential results and compel the electoral commission to organize another one.

However, the two finally met at the funeral of the late Jerry John Rawlings. This could be the first time the two are meeting face to face after the 2020 election, which Mr. John Dramani Mahama has since refused to concede defeat.

Mr. John Dramani Mahama is seen bowing to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in a picture that has since gone viral.

John Dramani Mahama is dressed in an official funeral cloth for the late Jerry John Rawlings whilst Nana Akufo Addo was in an all-black suit.

The gesture is a sign of respect in the traditional setting of Ghana which requires one to bow before authority.

This could be the possible reason why Mr. John Dramani Mahama decided to humble himself before Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

But many Ghanaians have given different interpretations as they believe John Dramani Mahama has finally humbled himself to Akufo Addo as an admission of his victory in the 2020 general election.

Others also believe this is a sign of Mr. John Mahama finally recognizing Nana Akufo Addo as the President of Ghana.
