Ghana remains one of the countries in Africa where homosexuality is frowned upon. But despite this stark opposition, some homosexuals have managed to brace the odds to live the life they so wish to have.

One such person is a young man and resident at Madina who took the media by storm after deciding to undergo some surgeries to become Ghana’s first, public transgender.

In a recent interview with Al Jazeera, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that even though legalizing homosexuality is not on his governments agenda for now if there is a strong coalition and agitation for legalization in the future an amendment of the law will be considered.

He said the practice of homosexuals is at variance with the country’s norms, culture and values.
