News in suggest that Sam George, an MP of the biggest opposition party in Ghana has been assaulted by a supposed National Security personnel.
Sam was said to be monitoring the Ayawaso by-election which is currently on-going at the Ayawaso West Wuoggon. News gathered indicates that the NDC candidate has withdrawn from contesting. It is however unclear if the withdrawal has anything to do with the said assault.
According to a Facebook post made by Sam on his page “members of the NPP’s Invincible Forces dressed up as National Security officials attacked him and fired several shots at him”
Sam George narrated the ordeal on his page, thanking the President Nana Akuffo-Addo
“I have just been assaulted by several members of the NPP Invincible Forces attired in National Security Council shirts and vests. They fired several rounds of ammunition at me simply because I was doing my legal job of monitoring the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
“President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, I am grateful to you.”
Violence should not be entertain anywhere, not to talk about in politics, I therefore do not entertain the alleged assault melted down on NDC MP Sam George.
