Ghanaian international Christian Atsu is one of the most respected football stars in the country right now.

He is well known for his dazzling skills on the field of play but many football lovers have no idea about his family.

Atsu has always been in the news for good reasons and has been noted to cherish his family a lot.

The Ghanaian, who currently plies his trade in the English Premier League, has been off singles the market for some years now, meaning he is married.

Atsu is happily married and he has been proving that love is indeed the sweetest thing in the world.

The former Chelsea and Porto winger is married to a German, Marie-Claire Rupio.

Atsu and Marie-Claire met during Atsu’s loan spell at Rio Ave in Portugal and got married in 2012.

In an interview concerning Atsu, Marie-Claire said, “He is a strong person, does not cry easily, but he is very concerned about humanitarian issues.”

Atsu began his career with Porto. He also spending a season on loan at Rio Ave. In 2013, he was signed by Chelsea for £3.5 million, who subsequently loaned him to Vitesse Arnhem, Everton, AFC Bournemouth and Málaga.

After spending the 2016–17 season on loan at Newcastle United, he completed a permanent transfer to the club in May 2017.

Atsu was part of the Black Stars team that failed to end the country’s trophy drought at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

He has capped 62 times for Ghana, scoring 10 goals in the process.
