The 2020 campaign season is here with us again and as party colours flood our streets and masses gather to listen to the promises of political parties amidst occasional clashes of ideas and people, one thing which has also become quite noticeable is the appreciable number of politicians who have lost their lives since the beginning of the month of October.
From road accidents, to armed robbery gone wrong resulting in murder and natural causes, seven politicians have so far gone to meet their maker which is alarming for any political season.
It is sad that such fine young men would lose their lives especially in avoidable incidents like road accidents, which has vastly been the cause of death for so many in the list below
List of Ghanaian Politicians who have died in October 2020
1. October 3, 2020 – NDC Deputy Youth Organizer for Bono Region, others injured in car crash
Bono East Regional Deputy Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Nsiah Kojo Isaac, popularly known as Kojo Nomoah died in a ghastly car crash on Saturday 3rd October, 2020Mr. Nomoah died in a road accident involving an NDC branded double cabin pick-up vehicle he was on board with some other three Regional executives of the party, and an Articulator truck vehicle loaded with fertilizer around the Tuobodom toll booth on the Techiman- Kintampo highway.

It is said that they were returning from Apesika after attending a funeral of the Kintampo South Deputy Youth Organizer of the NDC Mr. Gbagbin’s late mother when the two vehicles collided head-on leading to Mr. Nimoah dying on the spot.
2. October 5, 2020 – NDC Youth organizer shot dead
A branch executive of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Pusiga District of the Upper East Region has lost his life after he was shot by unknown gunmen.Khalifa believed to be in his late 30’s operates a drinking bar at Widana within the Pusiga enclaves and was shot in the leg and stomach by his assailants who demanded for the GHS70,000 they claimed he kept to buy a house within the area.
3. October 9, 2020 – MP and NPP Parliamentary candidate for Mfantseman, Ekow Kwansah Hayford shot dead
The incumbent MP and NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Mfantseman constituency, Hon. Ekow Kwansah Hayford was shot dead by suspected armed robbers in the Central region.
The MP and was returning to his residence in Mankessim after campaigning in Dominase when his car was stopped by the assailants who ended up murdering him.

4. October 6th, 2020 -NDC Parliamentary candidate for New Juaben North dead
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate of the New Juaben North in the Eastern Region, Mr. Oti Boateng died in Kumasi on October 6, 2020 while on his way to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region for medical treatment.
The young pharmacist with the St Joseph Hospital had been on the campaign trail canvassing votes for himself and the NDC and seemed hale and hearty until his sudden death.
5. October 10th, 2020 – NPP Campaign Manager and Assembly member in Tolon dies in a ghastly accident
A Campaign Manager of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tolon Constituency of the Northern Region has died in a ghastly motorbike accident.
The incident occurred on Saturday October 10, 2020 in one of the communities while he was returning from an assignment in the area. Hudu until his demise was the Assembly Member for the Cheshagu Electoral Area in the Tolon District.

6. October 16th ,2020 – NPP parliamentary candidate for Yapei-Kusawgu, Abu Kamara dead in road accident
NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Yapei-Kusawgu constituency, Hon. Abu Kamara on passed away in a horrible accident on Friday 16th October, 2020.
He is reported to have died on the spot alongside two others in the crash while returning to Tamale after a campaign event when the incident happened near Datoyili at about 10:39 pm on Friday.
7. October 16th, 2020 – NPP Youth Organizer for Odododiodio constituency dead
Ghanatribune.com reported the unfortunate passing of the Odododiodio Constituency Youth organizer for the New Patriotic party NPP, known simply as Ras.
His unfortunate demise occurred yesterday October 16th, 2020, further checks revealed he had been sick for sometime before his untimely demise.
