Veteran actor, Pslam Adjetefio, popularly known by Ghanaians as ‘T.T’ , a character he played in a TV sitcom which aired in the 90’s, has expressed great appreciation for the gesture shown by many well-meaning Ghanaians who have come to his aid after he came out to let the world know of his plight.
It would be recalled that a few days ago, it came out that the actor’s rent would soon be due but he did not have the means to pay for a renewal, which implied an imminent eviction.
His plea touched many Ghanaians, prominent among them, no other person than the Vice President of the country, Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia. He presented a total amount of Ghc 50,000 to the actor. Ghc30,000 was to cover the cost of rent for for five years and the remainder, which is Ghc 20,000 was for his upkeep.
It was in showing appreciation that the actor mentioned that, if not for that period, never had he come across or ever held the Ghc 200 note not to talk of the huge amount he held in his hands. He profusely expressed gratitude to the Vice President.
The benevolence of Ghanaians has ensured that not only the Vice President would offer help. Media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah as well as known faces like Aisha Modi and Rev Obofuor have all come along to offer assistance, with the latter even promising to build a house for the veteran actor.
It is during such times that we really appreciate the Ghanaian trait of kindness. Many have flaws which we may not be proud of, but you can be assured that when it comes to humanity and offering assistance, your regular Ghanaian is always willing and ready to go the extra mile to offer whichever help or assistance to anyone in need.
