Controversial politician, Kennedy Agyapong says he is innocent in the murder of an investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, who was killed at Madina in Accra Wednesday night.
Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck while driving home by unidentified men riding a motorbike.
Following the murder, Anas Amereyaw Anas circulated a video of Ken Agyapong asking the public to beat Ahmed Hussein-Suale when he comes to his radio station at Madina about six to seven months ago.
Since the news broke, some Ghanaians have called on the Ghana Police Service to immediately arrest Kennedy Agyapong, saying he may have knowledge of the murder.
But Kennedy Agyapong, reacting to this on Asempa FM’s political talk show, Ekosii Sen said he was innocent.
According to him, Anas should be the first person to be taken into police custody because “Anas is restricting the police from making investigations by creating a diversion with the video he released after his [Ahmed] death.”
The Member of Parliament for Assin Central has charged the Ghana Police Service to make a thorough investigation since he believes “the truth will set him free as an innocent man.”
Kennedy Agyapong, stressing his innocence added that Ahmed Hussein-Suale had “a lot of problems with people and created enemies for himself” hence he could not be held as the prime suspect as being speculated and circulated on media.
