Abi from Agbogloshie was adjudged winner of Atinka TV’s reality show, “Di Asa”, at the grand finale at the National Theatre, last Saturday.

Abi took home the ultimate prize, a brand new Suzuki Super Carrier from the Suzuki Centre and a cash prize of GHS3000; Akua placed second and she took home a KIA Mini Truck (Abossey Okai macho) and a cash prize of GHs2500 while Shasha who placed third took home a tricycle and a cash prize of GHS2000 cedis.

Nana from Mankessim was adjudged Best heritage dancer while Doris and Abi won the Best free style and Best performer respectively.

The final event which was scheduled for 8pm, saw viewers queueing at the National theatre as early as 3pm on Saturday.

The crowd at the Grand Finale were thrilled with performances from Highlife Legend Ben Brako and some other talents such as Paa Kwesi of dobble fame, Lil Shaker and Kojo Cue, Dhat Girl, Article Wan and Sapashini.

In attendance was the Minister for Communication, Ursula Owusu Ekuful.

The dance reality show, which targets plus- size women, also aims at promoting healthy lifestyles among market women across the country.

The show which won the 2017 RTP Reality Show of the year has undoubtedly taken over the airwaves with Season 2 recording some of the biggest crowds in the history of Reality Shows in Ghana.

The show, after a successful launch in Mpraeso, Kwahu on March 31st, 2018 traveled the length and breadth of the country from Bawku in the Upper East Region to Tarkwa in the Western Region ending up in Ashiaman in the Greater Accra Region.

43 ladies were selected and were taken through several activities including aerobics, health talk and screening to enhance their healthy lifestyles.

After several weeks of dancing highlife, mapuka, freestyle and heritage dance forms and under the eagle watch of Judges Fred Kyei Mensah (Fredyma) and 1986 World Dance Champion Adjetey Sowah, the number was reduced to ten through public voting and marks from the judges.

Di Asa Season 2 was headlined by Tobinco Pharmaceuticals limited.
