245 Ghanaian deportees from Kuwait arrive at Kotoka International Airport

The 245 Ghanaian returnees from Kuwait have been welcomed at the Kotoka International Airport this afternoon. The returnees were heard applauding to government for their timely response to their call to be repatriated home, following a series of complaints or calls via social media.

A live feed from KOFI TV on facebook at the Terminal 3 of the airport, displayed from the rear, a rather excited crowd of returnees applauding to a message delivered by the Deputy Foreign Affairs MInister, Hon. Charles Owiredu.

The Minister revealed that the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo was dismayed upon seeing the videos they [returnees] shared on social media platforms of their plight in a foreign land [Kuwait] especially in a time where the entire world has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a video shared on facebook [see below], the minister disclosed that government upon processing the content of the media/video had to reconsider certain measures to get the returnees safe home.
